Aimed at KS2 students, this assembly explores the history of LGBT+ people in Britain - how they were criminalized and fought for equality. DISCRIMINATION & THE EQUALITY ACT ASSEMBLY (30 mins) (KS2)

This KS2 assembly explores discrimination—what it means and how it appears in everyday life. It introduces the Equality Act (2010) and the 9 protected characteristics, encouraging the children to discuss what they think about the law and possible changes or improvements. The session ends by explaining the difference between equity and equality and their role in inclusion. It supports current RSE guidance through teaching respect and understanding of the law.
